Anya Taylor-Joy is a beauty icon both on and off the screen. While we’re still thinking about the stunning retro hair and makeup looks she served up in the Netflix mega-hit The Queen’s Gambit, Taylor-Joy hit the Emmy’s red carpet last night in one of her most jaw-dropping looks yet wearing both a haute couture Dior gown and all Dior beauty.
Taylor-Joy’s makeup was done by artist Georgie Eisdell and her updo was styled by Gregory Russell. “Inspiration for Anya’s look came from her exquisite Dior gown. I kept her eyes soft and classic to complement the pale yellow gown and chose a bright red lip, which perfectly complemented her yellow opera coat and jewels,” Eisdell says.
“I prepped Anya’s skin with the Dior Capture Totale C.E.L.L. Energy Super Potent Serum and the Dior Capture Dreamskin Care & Perfect. For her base, I used the Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation in #0n, the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer in #1n and the new Dior Forever Cushion Powder in #010 fair,” Eisdell adds. “Then I used the Dior Backstage Contour Palette for dimension and applied the Dior Rouge Blush in #361 Millefiori for a bit of color to her cheeks.

The makeup artist created dimension on Taylor-Joy’s eyes using the Diorshow Mono Couleur Couture in #530 tulle and #480 poncho. For mascara, she reached for the iconic Diorshow mascara in the shade #090 black. Her brows were filled and shaped with the Diorshow Brow Styler in #011 blonde.

Finally, on her lips, Eisdell used the Dior Contour Lipliner in #090 red smile and the Rouge Dior Ultra Care Liquid Lipstick in the brand’s iconic #999 shade. With her sculpted and shiny updo, the resulting look was the perfect balance of retro chic and modern glamour.
