Gigi Hadid ended fashion month with one of her most drastic hair changes ever: The model went platinum blonde. This is the lightest her hair has ever been. Hadid spent the bulk of 2021 as a redhead and switched back to a more golden blonde color in November. Hadid’s natural hair color is a darker blonde.

Hadid’s hair change comes after the model announced that she is donating all her runway earnings to help those suffering from the war in Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian Crisis. (Hadid’s father is a Palestinian refugee, as the model herself explained in a statement this week. “A refugee crisis is a refugee crisis,” she wrote. “I will be donating to UNICEF in born war-torn countries.”)
“Having a set Fashion Month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history,” Hadid wrote on Instagram. “We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we would like to walk ‘for’ something. Following in the footsteps of my friend @micarganaraz, I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine. Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice. May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion.
