Kim Kardashian signaled to everyone on Instagram that the Barbiecore trend has reached peak popularity when she devoted her latest outfit of the day post to fully embodying the iconic Mattel doll. Kardashian appeared with her platinum hair styled in a chic updo while wearing a pink camo Balenciaga bodycon dress. Kardashian, fully aware of what she was channeling, spelled it out in her caption just in case anyone wasn’t sure: “Balenci Barbie 💕” she wrote.
Kardashian’s appearance comes just a week after a source discussed to E! whether Kardashian is dating again following her breakup from her boyfriend of 10 months, Pete Davidson, in early August. The source said that Kardashian was indeed ready to look for love again, although this time, she will date someone older than Davidson, who is 28.
A source explained, “Kim’s expressed she’s ready to date someone older but it has to be the right person who understands her life. She isn’t compromising her freedom right now. She enjoys dating and is definitely open to putting herself out there again.”
That source added that Kardashian “has plenty of options. All of her friends are constantly trying to set her up.”
Kardashian and Davidson’s relationship didn’t last due to distance and age difference, sources told outlets following the split. One told Page Six that the two were in different life places, making it tough for their love story to end with them together. “Pete is totally spontaneous and impulsive and wants her to fly to New York, or wherever he is on a moment’s notice,” the source said. “But Kim has four kids and it isn’t that easy. She needs to focus on the kids. [She was ] totally exhausted by this relationship and other things going on in her life.”
