Everything We Know About The White Lotus Season 3

Culture

Though only three of seven episodes of The White Lotus‘ second season have aired, the third season has reportedly already been greenlit. This season is set in Sicily, after the show followed its first group of guests at the White Lotus resort in Hawaii. Where will this luxurious series be set next?

Here’s everything we know about The White Lotus season 3 so far.

Has production on The White Lotus started?

The first season debuted in July 2021. Now, season 2 is airing in November of 2022. Those are pretty closely scheduled releases of the HBO series. It’s unlikely that production has already begun on season 3, but it seems like a good guess that it will begin in 2023.

Where will season 3 of The White Lotus be set?

The first season was set in Hawaii, followed by some resort time in Sicily. The two places are strongly associated with luxury and tourism, so a place with that same reputation is the most likely choice.

What will season 3 of The White Lotus be about?

The third season will follow a new group of guests, just like season 2.

Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming and head of HBO drama series and films, didn’t give any specific details about the possible storyline, but Orsi did seem excited about creator Mike White’s vision.

“He’s only continued to reach new heights in season 2, which is the ultimate testament to Mike’s raw, unparalleled vision,” said Orsi. “His courage to explore the uncharted waters of the human psyche, paired with his signature irreverent humor and buoyant directing style, have us all dreaming of more vacation days at the resort we’ve come to adore. We couldn’t be more thrilled to get the chance to collaborate on a third season together.”

Who will appear in season 3 of White Lotus?

The cast in season 2 was entirely different than season 1, with one notably exception— the incomparable Jennifer Coolidge. The season 2 cast includes Aubrey Plaza, F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli, Adam DiMarco, Theo James, Meghann Fahy, Haley Lu Richardson, and Will Sharpe.

While talking to Variety, White gushed about his “collaborators,” but that doesn’t mean any of them will be coming back.

“There’s no place I’d rather work than HBO and there’s no people I’d rather partner with than Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi, Nora Skinner and their incredible team,” White said. “I feel so lucky to get this opportunity again and am excited to reunite with my amazingly talented collaborators on ‘The White Lotus.’”

But let’s keep an eye out for Coolidge.
