Now that you’ve bought a Peloton bike, you get to splurge on all the accessories, like a comfortable seat cushion or mat for under your bike. The most important thing you need, however, is a pair of Peloton-compatible shoes that will clip into your bike. Before you start shoe shopping, though, it’s crucial to do your research and learn which spinning shoes are and aren’t compatible with the Peloton. If you’ve previously taken cycling classes in a Peloton studio or another gym, the cycling shoes you have may be a two-bolt shoe, which is not Peloton compatible.
In order to ride your Peloton, your cycling shoes will need to be able to attach to Delta cleats. The easiest way to find out if your spinning shoes are compatible with your new bike is by flipping them over to reveal the screw outline on the sole of the shoe. Two adjacent holes mean a two-bolt shoe: not good. For a Peloton bike, you’ll want a triangle made out of three holes. These are called three-bolt cycling shoes. Cleats (the bracket on the shoe that connects to the pedals) are available for an additional charge on the Peloton website for three-bolt shoes that don’t include cleats.
