Emma Myers Does a 1-Handed Backflip in BTS Stunt Video From “Wednesday”

If running through the forest and battling otherworldly creatures looks like a HIIT workout, allow Emma Myers to demonstrate why training for a monster fight is even more intense. On Jan. 12, Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes clip of the “Wednesday” star — who plays Jenna Ortega’s onscreen BFF, Enid Sinclair — practicing her stunts for the series. “#WednesdayThought: More Emma Myers stunts in Season 2!” the streaming platform captioned footage of her cardio-heavy tumbling routine.

Like most of the Nevermore Academy students, Enid is gifted with supernatural abilities, namely her power to transform into a werewolf, complete with razor-sharp claws and increased endurance. As a result, Myers was tasked with bringing Enid’s strength to life on screen. With some practice and help from her trainers, she delivers a series of impressive parkour moves, all while embodying the werewolf spirit.

The snippet from Myers’s experience at “werewolf bootcamp” features her doing several one-handed — and often no-handed — backflips and cartwheels on a tumbling mat. When she lands, she instantly begins shuffling on all fours and showing her claws to the camera like Enid during the season one finale. Later in the video, Myers flies through the air with the help of a harness, striking her best werewolf pose at the top of each jump. Running, leaping over hurdles, backflipping into a standing position — her “Wednesday” stunt routine definitely looks like it’d work up a sweat.

Of course, most HIIT workouts don’t include flying kick spins that transition into intimidating werewolf stances. But after waiting all season for her powers to come in, it only makes sense that Enid should have an opportunity to show off her badass moves. Here’s to hoping Enid’s werewolf abilities shine in season two.
