Miley Cyrus‘s sound has changed a lot over the years, as have her style, hair, and love interests. There were her pop-meets-occasional-hints-of-hidden-angst days during “Hannah Montana” (anyone else dance wildly around their bedroom to “7 Things” and “Fly on the Wall”?!). Then came the punk pixie-cut, “Wrecking Ball,” twerking-with-her-tongue-out “Bangerz” era, followed by experimental albums that spanned many genres. In 2019, she graced us with breakup ballads (“Slide Away”) and powerhouse hits about taking charge and fighting the patriarchy (“Mother’s Daughter”). Her latest triumph, “Flowers”, promptly broke the internet — for the badass workout she’s crushing in the video, as well as all the Easter eggs hidden inside.
All this is to say, Cyrus is an ever-evolving artist, and she’s here to stay.
Now 30 years old and well beyond her Disney Channel years, Cyrus is the perfect example of someone unapologetically coming into her own. Many of her past and present hits, no matter the genre, make you want to move. Ahead, check out those songs that are great for keeping your feet pounding the treadmill and weights lifted off the ground. You’ll find the full playlist on Spotify as well as a compilation of the songs via YouTube.
