Lipa just collaborated with Versace on its La Vacanza capsule collection. Donatella Versace spoke to Vogue France about what she saw in Lipa when she first met her. Both women spoke about how they came to work together on the line.

“The first time I met Dua was at the 2016 Brit Awards,” Versace said. “I was immediately struck by what a talented, passionate, and strong young woman she was, and a true inspiration to other women. She understands clothes and how to showcase the female body. We talked a lot about what we liked… Then we went into the Versace archives and pulled out some elements that Dua brought up to date.”

“It was an incredible opportunity to go into the atelier and experience all the heritage of the house,” Lipa added. “It’s very inspiring to walk alongside Donatella because she really cares about how women feel in the pieces and wants to make sure they feel really strong.”
