Taylor Swift did indeed fly from Los Angeles to Kansas City, Missouri to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs play against the Denver Broncos.
Swift was seen in the stands alongside Donna Kelce, Kelce’s mother, before the game started. She wore a Chiefs varsity jacket (unfortunately now sold out) with a little black dress.
It was unclear ahead of the game whether Kelce would play due to his ankle injury from Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. NFL insider Jordan Schultz wrote on X, formerly known on Twitter, that he was told by sources that Kelce was likely to, as his ankle had responded well to treatment.
Swift skipped the Chiefs game last Sunday against the Vikings. She attended the team’s previous two games against the Chicago Bears and the New York Jets. Her absence on Sunday came after Kelce said that he intended to be more private with their relationship.
“I want to respect both of our lives,” he shared on his podcast New Heights. “She’s not in the media as much as I am doing this show every single week and you know, having fun during the NFL season and on other guys’ shows like the McAfee Show, and any other show that I go on from here on out. I’m enjoying life, and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend so everything moving forward, I think me talking about sports…will kind of have to be where I keep it.”
Even if Swift and Kelce have been more low-key lately, a source told The Messenger on October 8 that Swift legitimately loves cheering on Kelce at his NFL games.
“Taylor is having the time of her life at these football games cheering on Travis,” the source said. “Her and her friends are fully embracing this era and are having a lot of fun being there. Taylor has worked very hard this last year, and it’s fun for her to bring all of her friends along, let loose, and show support.”
A source told Us Weekly on October 3 that Swift and Kelce “talk every day,” and that she is “really enjoying getting to know Travis. They’re taking it day by day, but she has high hopes. She likes that he’s a normal, nice guy. He’s down-to-earth and isn’t affected by fame. She also thinks he’s hot.”
That source also said that following Swift’s ultra-private six-year romance with Joe Alwyn, “Taylor has decided she’s not going to hide anymore. She’s going to be her authentic self and enjoy life.”
Swift was last out on Wednesday for the Los Angeles premiere of her Eras Tour concert film. Beyoncé attended, leading Swift to gush about the “actual fairytale” it was.
“I’m so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without @beyonce’s influence,” Swift wrote on Instagram. “The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility. She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was like an actual fairytale. 😇🙏🥹”
