During a cast interview with Fandango to promote Denis Villeneuve’s Dune 2‘s upcoming release, Zendaya and her castmates Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh were asked about the project and possible future films in the Dune universe. During the interview, the Euphoria star was wearing a monochrome ensemble in tan, composed of several pieces by Petar Petrov from the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, including the Savage Biker Jacket and Shorts in Rhum Suede.
Her hair was down in full waves and parted to the side, and she wore several pieces of gold jewelry, including a gold ring and earrings. She had on a natural makeup palette with a dark coral lip.
In the interview, the group was asked about the potential for appearing in a third Dune movie, based on the 1969 novel Dune Messiah. In the newsletter by Jeff Sneider, he stated the film has allegedly been greenlit by Warner Bros. with a potential 2027 release date.
“Would we be down?” Zendaya responded when asked about reprising her role. “I mean of course. Any time Denis calls it’s a yes from me. I’m excited to see what happens. I started Messiah and I was like, ‘Woah, I’m only shooting the first movie. Let me just go back to the first one.’ It’s so much to take in, but there’s no better hands with better care and love for it than Denis.”
“I’m just excited to see—It’s just anticipation,” she added. “Whenever he is ready. He’s a perfectionist in many ways and doesn’t want to share things until they’re ready. So I’m respecting that and waiting until he’s ready.”
Villeneuve has stated his interest in making a third Dune film, even confirming late last year that a script for the potential movie was almost finished.
