Anne Hathaway is the leading lady in the highly anticipated rom-com The Idea Of You, which hits Prime Video this week. To promote the film, she made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and slipped into a sheer black Fleur du Mal bustier top lined with crystals, which she paired with matching wide-leg pants by Des Phemmes and black platform stiletto sandals. She kept her jewelry minimal, adding a thin, silver chain choker necklace and a couple of rings. Her brown hair was tied up into an effortless ponytail, with her blunt bangs framing her face.
That same day, Hathaway attended the New York premiere of The Idea Of You, changing into a bold, bright red gown by Versace that featured cutouts on the bodice and a thigh-high slit. She completed the look with a pair of statement drop earrings and a collection of silver rings.
Those weren’t the only outfits Hathaway wore that day. The actress actually had two other costume changes on Monday, continuing the theme with a chic, preppy, all-white ensemble, followed by a summery aquamarine midi tube dress with sheer cutouts.
On the red carpet, Hathaway said she “was really honored to be asked” to star as Solène in The Idea of You.
“Gabrielle Union and Cathy Schulman [who produced the film] are a pretty big deal,” she added. “And I read it, and I love love stories. I’ve been really lucky to be in a lot of them. But I’ve been in a lot of mixed-tone films as well, and to find a love story at this stage in my career that rang true, I just wanted to sign up immediately.”
She also remembered telling Schulman, “I really want this to be my 40th birthday gift to myself.” Hathaway, now 41, continued, “I can’t think of a better way to turn 40, and I actually turned 40 the before we shot Solène’s 4oth birthday,”
