On Saturday, June 1, NFL star Travis Kelce joined comedian Jason Sudeikis onstage at the annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend charity event in Kansas City, playing along in the former Saturday Night Live cast member’s sketch. A moment in the playful banter was captured by fans and shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, in which Sudeikis asks about Kelce’s super famous girlfriend Taylor Swift.
“Hey Travis, real talk, OK, just the guys here,” Sudeikis said. “When are you going to make an honest woman out of her?”
Kelce smiled and looked thoughtful as the crowd cheered. Also on the stage were Sudeikis’ uncle George Wendt and Robert Smigel. The sketch was a tribute to their recurring sketch Bill Swerski’s Super Fans from ‘90s era SNL.
“Look, Taylor doesn’t need to be working anymore,” they continued to joke, before riffing on the infamous speech made by Kansas City Chiefs player Harrison Butker at Benedictine College, suggesting female graduates should focus on “marriage and motherhood.”
Kelce laughed, but then apparently had enough.
“Guys, you’re really pushing it,” he said finally.
Swift is currently touring in Europe and is scheduled to play in Lyon, France, on Sunday, so she was not at the event. She was reportedly in London on Saturday at the KitKatClub to watch her friend Cara Delevingne perform in Cabaret, jumping to the city from Madrid after her shows there and in Portugal.
Kelce flew in to catch one of Swift’s shows in France in May, heading to Nanterre with friends Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper. He and Swift then spent some time together on a romantic trip to Lake Como.
In May, a source told ET that engagement could be a possibility “sooner than later.”
“Taylor and Travis are doing amazing, and their loved ones see an engagement coming sooner than later,” the source said. “They make a great match and there’s no question about that.”
