Earlier this year, Andrew Garfield was photographed with his new girlfriend, Dr. Kate Tomas, a spiritual advisor and self-identified witch. The couple appears to still be together, having recently been seen at Wimbledon on July 14. For the first time, Tomas has spoken a bit about their relationship, both on a recent episode of her podcast, The Friday Emails, and in an interview with The Sunday Times.
She alluded to Garfield on her podcast, The Sunday Times pointed out, saying, “I am in a new relationship, and I’m in love, and I’m really happy.”

She also discussed the “horrific accusations that were leveled at me that I’d used magic to seduce my partner.” Tomas offers a seduction master class as part of her work, and spoke on her podcast about how true seduction “is not about magic spells or manipulation. It has got nothing to do with how perfect their teeth are—thank you, Reddit [in reference to hateful comments there]—or whether they conform to conventional standards of beauty. People that are really attractive are full of charisma because they are authentically themselves and confidently anchored in that.” She made similar comments on TikTok.
To the Times, Tomas lamented the public’s focus on who she’s dating, pointing out the inherent sexism in it. “It’s frustrating that no matter how accomplished or impactful a woman is, it’s always going to be more interesting if they are in a relationship with a man,” she said. “I don’t want to sit under anybody’s shadow.”
She addressed the tabloid attention, too. “They [the paps] will take maybe 150 pictures, then they choose the four where you look worst.” Additionally, she admitted she finds the “misogynistic nature of that interest—criticism of how a woman looks, of what [she] does for work” to be the most depressing aspect of dating someone in the spotlight.
Tomas otherwise avoided speaking about Garfield in her interview.
In April, a source told Us Weekly that Garfield has enjoyed his romance with Tomas so far. “Things are fairly new between Andrew and Kate, but she’s down to earth and he feels very comfortable with her,” the insider said. “Andrew really appreciates the fact that Kate is very different from other women he’s dated. He thinks she has a great sense of humor, and she’s easy to talk to.”
