Yesterday, Travis Kelce scored his first touchdown of an undefeated season so far during the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The universe can work in funny ways, though, as just hours before, his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, gave Kelce a nod at her second New Orleans concert. She made a touchdown gesture while performing “Midnight Rain.”
It ended up foreshadowing what would happen on the field:
During her first New Orleans show on October 25, Swift also threw a football in honor of her partner:
Kelce wasn’t able to attend Swift’s New Orleans concerts, because of his away game on Sunday. This weekend could be different, though. Kelce’s next game is on Monday, November 4, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Swift will be playing nearby in Indianapolis this weekend. Her shows run from November 1 to November 3. A source spoke to Page Six on October 26 about why Swift isn’t likely to attend any of Kelce’s away games this season, even after her tour ends in December.
Security is the biggest factor: “She’s not going anywhere unless she knows the venue intimately and it has been thoroughly scouted and secured in advance,” the insider explained.
That source also described Kelce as being protective of Swift. He gives her “a tremendous sense of peace,” the insider said. “Just his physical presence. She feels safer with him than anyone she’s ever known; she knows he would do anything for her and physically she feels protected by him, and she loves that feeling. It’s a relatively new one for her, relationship-wise.”
“Travis is her protector in every sense of the word,” the source continued. “He is going to make sure she is physically safe, and emotionally safe—he is not going to do anything careless or reckless with her.”
