Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

On their personal site, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement on the fires. “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more—affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been issued. If you feel compelled to help, here are some resources and ideas.” They recommended supporting José Andrés’s World Central Kitchen, which is feeding first responders and victims, and CAL FIRE and LA Fire Department Foundation, among other organizations.

“Some families and people have been left with nothing,” the couple added. “Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys & clothing, and other essentials. The American Red Cross is on the ground helping those in need.”

Anya Taylor-Joy

Taylor-Joy offered guidance for those in the area. “L.A. please have bags ready,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “Buy an air purifier if you are sheltering in place. Charge your phones. Leave water outside for the animals. Stay alert. My heart breaks for this city and those who have lost their homes. Only love.”

Mandy Moore

Moore commented on the damage in her and husband Taylor Goldsmith’s neighborhood. She shared an Instagram from when she returned to the grounds. “We were able to park and walk up our street to bear witness to all the loss,” she wrote. “Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now. It’s not livable but mostly intact. We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio with every instrument and piece of equipment they’ve ever owned. We lost our garage and back house. Everyone we know lost everything. Every house on our street is gone. My in laws. My brother and sister in law—6 weeks from welcoming their first baby. Our best friends. Feeling weird survivors guilt. We love this community and will do everything we can to help rebuild and support. Thanks for everyone for checking on us and offering us help. Altadena strong.”

Paris Hilton

Hilton posted footage on her Instagram Story of her and her family evacuating. She wrote in one post, “Heartbroken to find out what happened to my house by seeing that it was burning to the ground on live TV.” In a second Instagram Story, she wrote, “Driving out of my house on to Mulholland. I’ve never seen anything like this.”

She shared an Instagram post too, writing, “Heartbroken beyond words.💔 Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.😢 This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.🥹

“While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family and pets are safe. My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires. To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heartaches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.💔

“My 11:11 Media Impact Team is already reaching out to nonprofit organizations today to figure out how we can best support the communities impacted by these fires. We’re committed to offering help as soon as possible and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most.

“To the brave firefighters and first responders risking their lives to protect us—you are true heroes. I am so grateful for your courage, dedication, and the incredible sacrifices you’re making to save lives and fight this unimaginable battle. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.🙏

“Please, everyone, stay safe and follow evacuation orders. Let’s protect one another and hold onto hope that these fires will soon be contained.🙏 Sending so much love and strength to all of you. We’re in this together, LA.✨Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. You never know when everything could change.🥺”

Praying that our home stays safe as these fires remain uncontained and praying for everyone who’s lost everything.

“Truly a horrifying few days and nowhere near close to resolved. Mourning our city of the last 15 years. I’ll be posting as many resources as I can as we work to get everyone on the other side of this.
