As the fashion set descends on Italy for Milan Fashion Week, the Hotel Principe di Savoia stands as one of the city’s gems. New this season is the historic property’s reimagined lobby, which just underwent a major renovation, and serves as the first introduction to the iconic space. Marked by warm colors and exquisite style, the lobby also features the Il Salotto lounge, a charming and inviting place to decompress after a long day of shows or exploring the sites of Milan.
Per a press release, the design firm Architteture&Interni Milano led the recent facelift, aiming to preserve the classic nature of the hotel. No detail was spared in the furnishings either. The team sourced items from a variety of vendors, including seating that came from La Cividina, a show-stopping carpet from Tai Ping Carpets, and artwork and other décor from DEMA Tinteggiature and Inkiostro Bianco. Another unique touch worth noting is the exhibition area, which features a rotating slate of artists.
According to General Manager Ezio Indiani, the lobby and lounge “is a meeting place, a place of sharing and exchange, frequented by both Milanese and visitors to the city. We wanted to give it a new look, warmer and more welcoming, because everything here, from the staff to the proposals and the furnishings, must make guests feel welcome and at home, surrounded by style and refinement, from breakfast to dinner.”
Guests also have the opportunity to indulge in a full menu (inspired by British cuisine) beyond an evening cocktail, sip their morning coffee and tea, enjoy a quick lunch, or try delicious homemade cakes by world renowned pastry chef Beniamino Pessannante.
