After a year and a half of anticipation, Showtime’s psychological survival thriller Yellowjackets is finally back for its third season. Season 3 is already delivering more twists, shocks, and revelations—plus a few new cast members, including two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank and Community star Joel McHale.
Season 2 concluded with the teen survivors losing their shelter to a fire, leaving them stranded in the dead of winter, while the present-day Yellowjackets were involved in an accident that led to Natalie’s (Juliette Lewis) shocking death. Co-creator Ashley Lyle teased that season 3 will finally reveal key moments from the past that the present-day characters have been so desperate to keep hidden. “We hope it will be both satisfying and at times unexpected,” she told Vanity Fair. “The stakes are pretty high in the present-day storyline, perhaps in a way that they did not feel in season two, and that was really exciting for us to delve into. There are at least two very big questions with very clear answers.”
Christina Ricci, who plays Misty, has teased that this season will be Yellowjackets’ most thrilling. “This is the most fun and exciting season yet. It’s very smart and shocking—and people die,” she told TV Insider.

The third season premiered with a two-episode debut on February 14 on Paramount+ with Showtime, at 3 A.M. ET/12 A.M. PT. New episodes begin streaming weekly on Fridays.
