While the chemistry between Bridgerton’s Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan has led some fans to wonder if they’re an offscreen couple, Newton is actually taken by someone else, as paparazzi photos revealed on June 12.
Newton had kept his relationship status private during his press tour, speaking only about his close friendship with Coughlan. (Coughlan has also kept her love life out of interviews.)
Then after the London Bridgerton midseason premiere event, Newton was photographed holding hands with his rumored girlfriend, dancer Antonia Roumelioti. See the photos here on People.
The two had sparked dating speculation since late April, despite Newton not talking about their relationship. However, he did tell InStyle around then what kind of person he considers to be a soulmate: “I think a soulmate is whoever you can be 100 percent yourself with. You can be your real weird self [when you’re] behind closed doors, and no one sees you, and you’re dancing in your underwear in the kitchen. I feel like if you could do that with someone that’s a soulmate to me.”

Rumors about Roumelioti and Newton dating first came out in spring 2024.
In mid-May, The Mirror reported that Roumelioti and Newton first connected as friends in January 2024. They spent more time together in April during a trip to L.A.
Roumelioti appeared to share photos from the Los Angeles visit on Instagram. She disabled the comments on her three posts. People pointed out that fans noticed Newton gave InStyle polaroids of that trip, including one shot where he sits at the same café table as Roumelioti does in one of her photos. The table had the same order number, 95, on it and billboard behind it.
The Mirror wrote that Newton had been single since March 2023 after last dating Jade Louise Davies.
A source told The Mirror in the same report that Roumelioti and Newton had the support of their loved ones with their new relationship: “Luke and Antonia get on really well and are having a great time together. They have not yet gone public as it is still early days, but they have grown very close and of course all their friends and family know. They are thrilled to see them both so happy. And Antonia has been supporting Luke as he deals with the global attention that the latest series has attracted.”

Roumelioti seems to be on good terms with Newton’s friend and co-star Coughlan as well. The two women were filmed warmly hugging at what seems to be the after-party of the Bridgerton New York City season 3 premiere on May 13. Coughlan appears to be wearing this dress from the party in the video:

Fans speculated that Roumelioti was in New York during the Bridgerton premiere with Newton, as she shared photos of herself in the city around the same time.
Roumelioti added a little fuel to dating rumors when she posted mirror selfies of herself with a Manhattan geotag on May 17. The post was captionless:

Roumelioti is a trained dancer in her early 20s.
Roumelioti trained at the Wilkes Academy of Performing Arts in England. She made her professional debut there in December 2021 when she performed in Peter Pan. Young Stars Performing Arts School in Cyprus shared an Instagram at the time celebrating their alum’s achievement, noting she was in her final year at the U.K. academy.
Roumelioti has since shared Instagrams of herself performing at Playground London and STC Training Club, along with doing professional background dancing.
She appears to be an Aquarius, as she shared a photo of herself at her birthday dinner on Jan. 23, 2022.
Roumelioti competed on Greece’s Got Talent when she was 16.
Roumelioti is no stranger to a little limelight. At age 16, the dancer performed on Greece’s Got Talent, taking the stage with then-14-year-old singer and dancer George Michaelides. Footage of their 2017 performance can be seen here on YouTube. According to Page Six, the pair made it all the way to the show’s finals, although they did not win.
