Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley captivated viewers with her on-screen love story with actor Jonathan Bailey. As Kate Sharma, she’s a delightful romcom heroine. In her personal life, she also seems to be living a romantic dream. Her relationship with Constantin “Tino” Klein has been going on for a little over a year, though they only went public last December.
Here’s everything you need to know about Klein and Ashley’s relationship so far.
Who is Constantin Klein?
Klein worked as a corporate lawyer until 2019. He received his bachelor of laws at King’s College in London, where he was awarded the King’s College Law School Prize in Jurisprudence. He then went to BPP Law School, before getting a master’s degree from Queen Mary University.
He ended up switching careers just before the pandemic, becoming the CEO of GP Ice Race, a winter car race that runs on an actual ice track. Klein is pretty passionate about racing himself, and told Highsnobiety, “Having come to Ice Race for two years as a paying visitor and now being part of the team, one of the things that stayed constant throughout is there is nothing in the world at that time of year, regardless of cars and cool stuff, that once someone has seen, been, or even heard about it got them as excited as this.”
He also shared a few details about his family, saying his mother is a professor and an academic without much of a shared interest in car racing. But he said he took her out and changed her mind.
“I was going super slowly, sat in a car without seat belts, without a roof, without anything, and got out of it and she was just glowing,” he said. Clearly, they have a close family tie if she was willing to get into a race car on ice.
How long have Ashley and Klein been together?
In May 2022, Ashley met Klein at the Grand Prix in Monaco, which she shared with Vogue in an interview that same year in November. At the time, she didn’t say who this new boyfriend was but said, “I’m very happy. We haven’t gone public yet, and we’re having those conversations about how we can get there before anyone else does.”
When asked about living together, she added, “I’d like to but, you know, one day.”
There were rumors that Klein was the secret man she was referring to, as they’d been seen together at a few public events over the summer. Then, in December 2022, she posted a photo of Klein blowing out his birthday candles on Instagram, writing in the caption, “The best birthday surprise for the best person.”
He also made an appearance in a carousel of pictures of a beautiful winter vacation. She called him her “snowman.”
But it got “official” when she shared a photo of them being affectionate and laughing at a Netflix BAFTAs after-party in London in March 2023. See the photo here.
And in August, she shared some photos of him taken by her brother while out on a hike.
So, he’s met the family.
