George and Amal Clooney had a very public date night for a good cause. The couple attended The Albies awards, an annual ceremony hosted by their NGO, The Clooney Foundation for Justice. The Albies “shine a protective spotlight on courageous justice defenders who are at risk—sending a message to those who abuse human rights that the world is watching,” they shared on the organization’s site.
Both stars wore black, with Amal standing out in a sleeveless Versace gown with a sweetheart neckline. Her diamond earrings and bracelets completed the elegant look. Just as notable as the couple’s style was their PDA at the event. They looked very smitten while arriving:
Inside, George gushed about his wife. He told People on the red carpet, “I would support anything my wife is involved in. She’s always on the right side of history, and I’m always so proud to be in the same room with her no matter what, and this is an event where we get to focus all the attention on the people who don’t get enough attention.”
Amal offered similar praise of George to the outlet. “He’s an amazing advocate, and it just means so much to me to be able to do this work together and for him to help bring to life some of the stories that we’re telling tonight.”
In response to his partner’s compliment, George joked, “I’m giving her money right now, you can’t see, right behind her back.”
The couple’s appearance was just one day before their 10-year wedding anniversary.
