Twitter is calling out that a newly single Taylor Swift has already been spotted with a new love interest: 25-year-old Los Angeles Lakers player Austin Reaves. Reaves’ brother, however, had a pretty blunt response to the viral tweet claiming Reaves and Swift were together. Judging by his reaction, it’s likely just a rumor and nothing more.

The rumor-mongering tweet read, “Following her breakup, Taylor Swift was reportedly seen in an Arkansas Bar this weekend with star Laker basketball player Austin Reaves.” Spencer Reaves responded with six laughing emojis.
In a second tweet, he added, “Austin going to the bar is the most unrealistic part of this whole thing.”
He also responded to another tweet seemingly about the rumor, writing, “People believe everything huh 😂😂”
Reaves was last linked romantically to Jenna Barber, who went to the same high school as him. One report claimed they’ve been dating since 2020.
Swift, of course, just ended her brief relationship with Matty Healy. A source told People yesterday, “They were never boyfriend-girlfriend or exclusive and were always just having fun. There is no drama, and who knows what could happen again. It was a good time and ran its course.”
The source added, “Taylor is doing great—her focus right now is her tour. Since Matty is touring too, they won’t be able to see each other at all. They have been friends for years and decided to just go back to being friends. Nothing complicated happened. It’s just life.”
A third source hinted that a Healy-Swift reconciliation could be possible. “Taylor and Matty still care for one another but they are in the middle of world tours so are both incredibly busy. They’ve been friends for years and are still friends.”
