The girls of Blackpink reunited to celebrate the eight-year anniversary of their band’s debut. They had a very public celebration in Seoul with fans where they all coordinated in black outfits. Lisa opted for a black jacket, crop top, and pants ensemble (very “Rockstar”) while Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa wore minidresses. Jisoo actually stepped out in the same Clio Peppiatt LBD that Swift did while celebrating her 34th birthday. The double pop star-endorsed piece hasn’t completely sold out yet.
The public event was far from their only celebration. The bandmates also marked the anniversary privately and shared Instagrams from that get-together.
They reflected on what they’ve accomplished on the social media platform. Rosé wrote, “Happy 8 years @blackpinkofficial. 🥹🥹🥹 Thank you girlies for being my best sisters throughout all of this. I’m so so proud of us. Love you all tremendously. Happy 8 years blackpink. I can’t wait to live laugh and grow with you all. Lysm.. 🥺🩷🩷”
Jennie kept her tribute simple, sharing a carousel of images and writing in Korean, “August 8, 8th anniversary.”
Lisa thanked the group’s fans, known as Blinks, for celebrating the day with them, writing first in Korean, “August! 8th! 8th anniversary! It was so great and happy to be with BLINKs on BLACKPINK’s birthday 🩷🎂 ” She then added in English, “Thank you for making this so memorable and Cheers to many more years together ♾️”
Jisoo shared a longer reflection, writing in Korean that August 8 was “a day where I feel thankful and happy again for being able to spend 8 years with Blinks. As we grew together, I think we’ve built a strong relationship that we can lean on when we’re having a hard time. Just like the Blinks I met today who were strengthened and comforted by BLACKPINK when they were having a hard time, they told us to lean on them so that we can be strong for them too, and with just those words, I felt like we could overcome all the hardships in the future. Let’s continue to be strong for each other. Thank you and I love you♥️ And our BLACKPINKs are always grateful and I love you Congratulations on your 8th anniversary and please take care of us in the future 🖤🩷”
