On Feb. 7, 2024, Abbott Elementary fans were graced with the gift of a season 3 debut, and just three days later, it all got even better. On February 10, ABC shared the exciting news that the series was renewed for a fourth season.
“Abbott Elementary isn’t going anywhere,” the network posted on Instagram. “The comedy series has been renewed for a Season 4 at ABC, as announced by Willard R. Abbott Elementary’s own Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis) during Disney’s Television Critics Association Press Tour.”
“Because we all deserve a little more Abbott in our lives. 💛 #AbbottElementary will be coming back for Season 4!” they wrote in the caption.
Ahead, everything we know about the upcoming new season.
When does season 4 come out?
Since season 4 was only renewed two weeks ago, it’s too early to tell when it will hit our TV screens. Abbott Elementary season 2 was renewed on March 14, 2022, and premiered six months later on Sept. 21, 2022. However, season 3 was renewed in January 2023 and didn’t come out until one year later due to the Hollywood writers and actors’ strikes. We’re waiting patiently for the season 4 premiere date.
Who will be in the cast?
Assuming that none of the staff of Abbott Elementary School gets fired, transferred, or quits, it can be assumed that the core seven will return for season 4, with Quinta Brunson as Janine, Tyler James Williams as Gregory, Janelle James as Ava, Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara, Chris Perfetti as Jacob, Lisa Ann Walters as Melissa, and William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson.
We can also likely expect to see more guest stars in season 4. Season 3 has seen some interesting faces so far, like Philadelphia Eagles players Jalen Hurts, Brandon Graham, and Jason Kelce, and comedian/TikTok star Sabrina Brier.
