There are few brands that have a grip on the fashion set quite like Ganni. So, when the Danish label collaborates with another powerhouse brand like New Balance, you know it’s going to be good—and sell out, fast. Such was the case when the two combined forces to create its first sneaker collaboration for those who embody a distinctly Scandinavian level of cool (one that mixes maximalist whimsy with a downtown edge). Well, the brands are at it again with another one for the books. There are three fresh-off-the-runway Ganni x New Balance pieces to be had, and you can get them as early as August 16. (Mark your calendars and set your alarms; you won’t want to miss out).
Ganni debuted its latest collaboration with New Balance—which features Ganni-fied takes on two of the American sports brand’s iconic styles—at its Spring 2024 fashion show at Copenhagen Fashion Week, giving onlookers further proof that cool sneakers are a mainstay in anyone’s closet. “We are so hyped to be launching our second collaboration with the New Balance team,” Ditte Reffstrup, Ganni’s creative director, said in a press release. “Honestly, we have had so much fun working on this, there is such a creative synergy between us and a lot of mutual respect for what we both bring to the table.”
Reffstrup reimagines the 1906R sneakers in vibrant blazing yellow and a more neutral egret. (For anyone who’s taking note, dad sneakers are very much alive and well.) The other shoe in the co-branded capsule is the RC30 Trackster, an all-black sneaker with yellow accents.
Like any collaboration, stock is bound to sell out almost as soon as it becomes available—and if you’re wondering how exactly to get your hands on such a covetable collection, you’ve come to the right place. Beginning August 16, the Ganni x New Balance 1906R sneaker will be available on both Ganni and New Balance’s websites (as well as select brick-and-mortar stores for both brands), retailing for $170. As for the RC30 Trackster, which will sell for $120, that’ll be available exclusively with Ganni in-store and online. The shoes aren’t currently available for pre-order, but you can sign up to receive an email when the collection officially drops (My expert advice? Sign up now or forever hold your peace.)
Whether you consider yourself a hypebae with a penchant for sneakers or you just love the brands (and ultra-cool footwear), there’s no question that this is a collaboration worth paying attention to—and adding to your fall wardrobe.
