Blue Ivy Carter is now a two-time BET Award winner, taking home the YoungStars Award yesterday evening. She first won the BET Her Award in 2020 for her work on “Brown Skin Girl” with Beyoncé, Wizkid, and SAINt JHN. Blue wasn’t at this year’s ceremony, but her loved ones publicly celebrated her achievement, including her mom, Beyoncé.
Bey shared a rare Instagram Story dedicated to Blue’s win. She reposted Parkwood Entertainment’s message to Blue, which read, “Congratulations to Blue Ivy Carter on winning the 2024 BET YoungStars Award!” Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, commented on the Parkwood post with another message for Blue: “Congratulations to Blue Blue our little superstar in the making ❤️❤️ 🔥🔥”
Blue competed in the category against Akira Akbar, Demi Singleton, Heiress Diana Harris, JaBria McCullum, Jalyn Hall, Leah Jeffries, and VanVan.
The 12-year-old rising star has a big fall ahead of her, as she’s making her voice acting debut in Disney’s The Lion King prequel, Mufasa: The Lion King, out on December 20. Beyoncé will reprise her role as Nala in the film, while Blue will be playing Nala and Simba’s daughter, Kiara.
Beyoncé is a woman of few words (but many outfit pics) on Instagram. However, the singer took to the platform to give Blue a special tribute last May during the Renaissance World Tour. Blue had been appearing as a dancer during the show, and Beyoncé applauded her work. “My beautiful first born 🙏🏾 I’m so proud and thankful to be your mama,” she wrote to her daughter. “You bring us so much joy, my sweet angel.”
