With more than 5,000 locations worldwide that are open 24/7, AnyTime Fitness has become synonymous with convenience and accessibility for those on-the-go. Since co-founders Chuck Renyon and David Mortensen opened the first franchise in Cambridge, Minnesota 22 years ago, the company has expanded, sprawling across 42 countries (including Antarctica!). When you pay for an AnyTime Fitness gym membership, you are granted access to any location, which is perfect for those who travel frequently. Still, no matter where you choose to work out, the organization’s mission remains the same: to improve health and wellness around the world.

In the last 10 years, the goal of AnyTime Fitness has been focused on “democratizing health and wellness coaching,” Julie Anderla, the company’s vice president of global marketing, tells PS. “We believe everyone around the world should have access to the ability to achieve the health and wellness goals that we have set for ourselves.” Part of making exercise more accessible, of course, means multiple location options and affordable membership prices.

If you’ve been curious about taking the plunge and joining yourself, here’s what to know about the pricing and membership options for AnyTime Fitness.

AnyTime Fitness Pricing

AnyTime Fitness membership costs can range depending on a number of factors, including where you choose to join. Each location is operated by individual owners, and therefore the pricing structure might look different depending on the market. For example, the average cost in the United States is $41, while the average cost in Canada is $53, according to the company’s website. Membership lengths also vary by location, but generally, most offer membership plans for up to six, 12, or 18 months. There is an initiation fee, which can vary between $25 and $150, depending on the location within the US. Once you pay for the membership, however, you will have access to the gym’s facilities, amenities, and lockers at any time and at any AnyTime Fitness around the world.

Certain locations do offer additional services at an extra cost, such as physical therapists and personal trainers, as well as the option to try treatments like cryotherapy or red light therapy. If you want to try out the gym before committing, AnyTime Fitness offers a free 7-day trial at every location.

AnyTime Fitness Discounts

Committed to making accessibility for the community a priority, AnyTime Fitness offers discounts for students, seniors, and active members in the military who are interested in joining. Depending on your healthcare insurance, there may be an option for a discounted membership option available. It is up to each AnyTime Fitness location to opt-in to offer the discount, and it’s always best to check with your local club to learn what discounts are available near you, the website denotes.

Additional Price Considerations

AnyTime Fitness offers personal training sessions to members at an additional cost. You can choose to work with a personal trainer in a one-on-one format, however many times per week or month that works for you. With this individualized format, you can book either 30- to 60-minute sessions and the cost can range between $40 and $75 and up.

AnyTime Fitness also offers small group training for additional cost. For small group training, members can partner up by bringing a friend (exact guest passes vary by location), or train together with small groups of four to six people. Small group training can cost $35 and up, depending on the location. Some AnyTime Fitness franchises also have team training options, which may include a slightly larger group size ranging from 6, 8, or 10 people. Both of the small group and team training sessions are designed to be welcoming and beginner-friendly, agnostic of level and experience. AnyTime Fitness does not offer kids programming or childcare services, like LifeTime Fitness, or sauna à la Equinox.

AnyTime Fitness App

For those on the go, you can opt to download the AnyTime Fitness mobile app, which is free for members. You can use the app to track training, nutrition, and recovery progress over time, or schedule time to work directly with a personal trainer. The company also has a partnership with Apple Fitness, which lets you access the same content as on the AnyTime Fitness app. If you don’t have a gym membership, you can try it on Apple Fitness for free for three months, after which is costs $10 a month.
