Kate Middleton has been photographed for the first time since the Queen has passed away, and on the same day that King Charles III officially named her Princess of Wales. Kate appeared behind the wheel of her car on Friday afternoon, dressed in a black mock neck sweater, sunglasses, and dangle pearl earrings.
The princess remained in Windsor yesterday while her husband Prince William traveled to Balmoral to be with the Queen after she was placed under medical supervision.
Kate was photographed out on a school run, picking up her and William’s three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis from their first day at Lambrook School. She appeared stoic at the time. Kate and William recently moved from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage on the Queen’s Windsor Castle estate.
Charles spoke about Kate and William’s future roles and new titles during his first address as king to the U.K. He said, via Hello!, “As my Heir, William now assumes the Scottish titles which have meant so much to me. He succeeds me as Duke of Cornwall and takes on the responsibilities for the Duchy of Cornwall which I have undertaken for more than five decades.”
“Today, I am proud to create him Prince of Wales, Tywysog Cymru, the country whose title I have been so greatly privileged to bear during so much of my life and duty,” Charles added. “With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations, helping to bring the marginal to the centre ground where vital help can be given.”
Kate and William updated their social media handles to reflect their new Prince and Princess of Wales titles.
