On Thursday, Meghan Markle attended the Highbrow Hippie Haircare and Wellness launch at Gjelina in Venice, California. The Duchess of Sussex wore a matching set from Khaite—a black sleeveless corset top with a pair of wide-legged black pants. She paired the look with Aquazzura sandal heels and jewelry by Logan Hollowell, including a gold pendant necklace and gold earrings. She had her hair down in long soft curls and wore a glowing natural makeup palette.
Meghan posed for photos with founder Kadi Lee, who was reportedly holding a bouquet of roses from Meghan and Prince Harry’s garden in Montecito. They were joined by Meghan’s longtime hairstylist, Serge Normant. The Duchess has credited Lee with her own hair styling and health and she invested in the new line herself.
“Kadi has a mastery of hair health, and her Highbrow Hippie collection is a perfect reflection of that,” Meghan told InStyle about their connection. “I am so proud to invest in her as a friend and as a female founder.”
In an interview with the New York Times in August, Meghan shared that she has invested in at least two other brands beside Highbrow Hippie, including Cesta Collective and Clevr.
“Investing in them has helped me line up for this chapter where I’m investing in myself,” she explained, alluding to her own line, American Riviera Orchard.
When asked about where she finds her investment opportunities, she shared, “I spend a lot of time just Googling, looking for brands. When people are online looking for things or reading things, I’m trying to find great new designers, especially in different territories.”
In a carousel of images and videos shared by entrepreneur Maya Brenner on Instagram, Meghan can be seen clapping as Lee thanked guests for joining them at the launch party.
