Anora’s Mikey Madison is making her Critics Choice Awards debut in style. The Best Actress nominee arrived wearing a black-and-white vintage Giorgio Armani dress from the house’s the fall/winter 1992 collection. She accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including a diamond necklace, and Manolo Blahnik shoes.
Madison was in the U.K. earlier this week, making an appearance at Vanity Fair’s EE Rising Star Party on February 5.
On Monday, the BBC ran an interview with Madison. The actress spoke about how unexpected Anora’s awards show run has been.
“I have been working for almost a decade now, well trying to work,” she began. “And that was my ultimate dream, to go to [the] Cannes [Film Festival]. And we had a film in the main competition, and then we won [the top prize, the Palme D’Or] and that was crazy in itself.”
“Everything that has followed,” Madison said, has been an “absolutely wonderful, pleasant surprise. Especially because I think I went into it feeling really proud of the film, and like we made something special to us. And the fact that the film is also special to other people is wonderful. It’s a dream.”
Madison spoke to the outlet before Oscars nominations were announced about her feelings around being part of the conversation: “I know that I’m incredibly overjoyed, honored, and humbled that our film is being recognized in this way. But I’m just processing it. It’s overwhelming and amazing, and all of the things.”
Madison ultimately received a Best Actress Oscar nod. She spoke to Variety about her reaction, saying, “I am in my bed in a hotel in New York, feeling very grateful. I was on FaceTime with my mom, my dad, my dog and my twin brother this morning, and I’m humbled; absolutely overjoyed. My heart is broken for Los Angeles right now, but I feel like as a community, everyone’s coming together and celebrating film in a beautiful way.”
Ahaa, its good conversation about this piece of writing here at this website, I
