Moncler is known to throw an epic party, and last night’s extravaganza was no exception. The luxury brand rang in Milan Fashion Week with a celebration of the new Moncler x Pharrell Williams collection, welcoming 5,000 guests into the atrium of Portrait Milano and treating them to an electrifying musical performance by rapper and singer Tobe Nwigwe.
The star-studded guest list included Williams, who, of course, proudly sported a custom look from the collection. He was accompanied by Moncler chairman and CEO Remo Ruffin, as well as friends and family members such as Willow Smith, SAINt JHN, and his wife, Helen Lasichanh. Other notable guests included Ashley Graham, Bianca Balti, and Jaden Smith.
The highly-anticipated collection comes on the heels of another successful collaboration between Moncler and Williams’ label Billionaire Boys Club. This time, the dynamic duo is offering their own take on the “glamping” lifestyle—all of the sumptuousness, craftsmanship, and refinery that distinguishes luxury, combined with the functionality and durability needed to withstand mother nature’s nastiest outbursts. Though designed with outdoor adventure in mind, the collection also appeals to city dwellers with a utilitarian, streetwear-like edge (thanks in large part to Williams). The multi-hyphenate’s creative contribution is even more apparent in the geometric motifs, from stark diagonal stitching to a diamond-quilted vest.
Another strongpoint of the collection is its versatility. What you see is not always what you get, as puffer vests feature bulky, detachable pockets, and two-toned trousers can be unzipped into a monochrome pair of shorts. Not only do such facets incorporate function, but they invite consumers to mix, match, and experiment with an array of ensembles. The earthy color palette of terracotta and mossy green also ensures that each piece will pair with your favorite fall staples.
The collection will be available to shop online and in select Moncler stores starting tomorrow, and an exclusive pre-launch is currently available to shoppers in Milan at antonia.it.
