More Evidence Surfaces That Meghan Markle Is Bringing Back Blog The Tig

Culture

Rumors have been circulating that Meghan Markle would soon be launching a lifestyle blog and brand, but she and Prince Harry have been dealing with other business ventures the last few years. However, sources speaking with TMZ have revealed that she has recently refiled trademarks for “The Tig,” which was the name of her personal blog she ran before becoming a member of the Royal Family.

The Tig was shut down in 2017, and she and Harry were engaged in November of that year. Before it ended, The Tig was where Meghan shared “recipes, travel tips and personal photos documenting her adventures.”

The filings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office include the same logo Meghan used back then, and states it will be featuring content on “food, cooking, recipes, travel, relationships, fashion, style, lifestyle, the arts, culture, design, conscious living, and health and wellness.”

In April, she was granted a Notice of Allowance on the trademark that is so far uncontested. She must file a Statement of Use by October, which means the site must be live and actively used.

Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex parted ways with the royal family in 2020, they have moved to Montecito, California, and embarked on several media enterprises through their company, Archewell productions. They had a deal with Spotify, which produced Meghan’s podcast Archetypes. The show was not renewed for a second season.

A joint statement in June from the company Archewell Audio and Spotify said, “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”

Because of that split, it was rumored that Meghan and Harry’s other media deal with Netflix would be done, but that was dispelled by the streaming giant.

A rep for Netflix told Entertainment Tonight Canada, “We value our partnership with Archewell Productions. Harry & Meghan was Netflix’s biggest documentary debut ever, and we’ll continue to work together on a number of projects, including the upcoming documentary series Heart of Invictus.”
