On Valentine’s Day, Pete Davidson opened up about his current status with former fiancée Ariana Grande in an interview with Page Six. The one-time couple were engaged for four months in 2018, before breaking up in October of that year. Though it has been some time since their relationship, the Saturday Night Live alum still has affection for his old flame, saying he wishes Grande all the best.
“When we see each other—which is few and far between, because we’re not in the same circles—it’s all love,” Davidson explained. “I hope she wins the Oscar, I hope she takes the gold.”
Grande was nominated for her role in Wicked in the Best Supporting Actress category at this year’s Academy Awards.
Davidson then went on to say that he hopes to maintain good relationships with anyone he’s dated, continuing, “I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women and when it’s ended it’s been cool.”
However, the comedian said that the interest in his love life can be “humiliating and upsetting.”
The Bupkis actor added, “Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood…But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.”
Davidson also commented on unintentionally become the face of the acronym “BDE,” standing for “big dick energy.”
“I’m a very sensitive person, and it’s humiliating to see a picture of yourself eating a sandwich in a pink T-shirt with the headline ‘This is what BDE is,’” he admitted. “You want people to write about your work. I was one of the youngest ever cast members on SNL and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating.”
