Confirmed: Princess Charlotte is a Katy Perry fan.
At the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle, the daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton was pictured in the stands singing along to Katy Perry’s “Roar.” Her mom, the Princess of Wales, nodded along and waved a flag next to her:
Many fans took note of the sweet moment, tweeting about Charlotte singing along. “Loving princess Charlotte singing her lungs out with Katy Perry,” one wrote. Another said, “princess charlotte is so real for singing along with katy perry love her for that.” Yet another tweeter joked, “princess charlotte katy perry fan omg cultured.”
Royal reporter Richard Eden even tweeted, “I suspect Princess Charlotte might have asked grandpa to book @katyperry for the #CoronationConcert She seems to know all the words.”
Katy Perry performed near the end of the concert, and the American pop took the stage in a dramatic gold dress designed by Vivienne Westwood, saying she was so happy to be performing in support of the British Asian Trust. Perry also said that she was excited to bring her mom to the concert at Windsor.
In addition to “Roar,” she performed her hit song “Firework.” Earlier in the night, Lionel Riche, Nicole Scherzinger, Tiwa Savage, Zak Abel, and other performers took the stage. Princess Charlotte’s dad, Prince William, appeared on stage to pay tribute to King Charles.
The coronation concert was the first of its kind at Windsor Castle; the historic royal residence has never hosted an event of this magnitude before. The entire royal family was out in force to enjoy the concert, with the exception of Princess Charlotte’s little brother Prince Louis—it was likely past his bedtime!
