Rihanna Wears a Chic Jersey Dress as Late Maternity Look

Culture

Two days after her star-turn in Pharrell Williams’ first Louis Vuitton men’s campaign was unveiled, Rihanna showed off her late, great maternity style again. Rihanna was photographed grabbing lunch with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky at Los Angeles’ Wally’s restaurant on Friday.

She wore a jersey dress and oversized varsity jacket, accessorizing with Puma sneakers and a red Louis Vuitton bag in a nod to the fashion house. She wore her hair down in waves and for beauty, opted for minimal eye makeup and a red statement red lip.

Rihanna is of course still expecting her second child. She and Rocky did not reveal their baby’s due date, but she announced her pregnancy during her Super Bowl performance in February, so she’s likely very close.

Rihanna spoke to Entertainment Tonight in May 2023 at the Met Gala about how her second pregnancy compares to her first. “It’s so different from the first one,” she started. “No cravings. Tons of nausea. Everything’s different, but I’m enjoying it. I feel good. I feel energetic.”

Rihanna did not reveal her due date during her first pregnancy either. She gave birth to her and Rocky’s first-born, son RZA, on May 13, 2022.

Rihanna has spoken more openly about her maternity style. She explained to Bustle in March 2022 that during her first pregnancy, her goal was to be “maybe…rebellious? When I saw women dress during their pregnancy [in the past], I’d think that that was the only way. So I challenged myself to push it further and really just have fun with [maternity style]. Because there’s nothing more fun than a challenge for me. Like that’s where I get creative. That’s where I’m forced to come up with new ideas and new ways to make it work. It’s been me personally saying, ‘I’m not going to buy maternity clothes. I’m not gonna buy maternity pants, jeans, dresses, or [do] whatever society told me to do before.’”
