Rihanna’s Paris Maternity Style Includes a Crop Top and a Statement Tube Top

Culture

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky kicked off their week in Paris, a move that has raised some speculation that Rihanna may indeed be attending the Met Gala on May 1. While Rihanna hasn’t disclosed why she’s in the French capital (whether it be for fittings or other business), the singer has been photographed out twice wearing excellent maternity looks.

Rihanna was first photographed wearing a gray crop top and sweats paired with a vintage Fendi patchwork coat from 1999. Karl Lagerfeld, as LaineyGossip pointed out, designed it. The outfit could be a little hint that Rihanna will indeed be showing up at this year’s Met Gala, which is celebrating his work.

Where did Rihanna wear the outfit? Out to eat, of course. César Restaurant owner Mehdi Abdelhedi shared a photo of him with Rocky and Rihanna there.

Rihanna later wore a brown tube top with blue pants and a coat draped over her for another dinner out with friend Melissa Forde. This meal was at 2 a.m. yesterday.

Rihanna is currently expecting her second child with Rocky. She announced the news at the Super Bowl.

Of her maternity style generally, she told Bustle in March 2022 that during her first pregnancy, her goal was to be “maybe…rebellious? When I saw women dress during their pregnancy [in the past], I’d think that that was the only way. So I challenged myself to push it further and really just have fun with [maternity style]. Because there’s nothing more fun than a challenge for me. Like that’s where I get creative. That’s where I’m forced to come up with new ideas and new ways to make it work.”

She added of her style philosophy, “It’s been me personally saying, ‘I’m not going to buy maternity clothes. I’m not gonna buy maternity pants, jeans, dresses, or [do] whatever society told me to do before.’”
