Selena Gomez celebrated the launch of her Rare Beauty line’s new tinted lip oils last night, opting to wear an all-black ensemble to the party. Gomez was photographed arriving at the event in a Mango coat, Alexander Wang top, and Proenza Schouler flared pants, paired with a Delvaux bag and Paris Texas slingback heels. She accessorized with white stud earrings.
Kate Young styled the look, while Gomez’s makeup artist Hung Vanngo did her glam. Vanngo showed a before and after photo of her beauty look, noting that Gomez is wearing her line’s Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil in Honesty. The product just came out today, so the color is yours to order:
Gomez told ELLE.com that her team spent two years developing the lip oil—the brand’s first-ever lip tint. “It’s different from other lip oils because the transformative texture is unlike anything I have experienced in a lip oil,” she said. “When applied, it goes on like a jelly but transforms into a hydrating formula. It’s special! Most lip oils I have tried have a smaller shade range because it’s hard to develop, but it was really important to us to create a wide range that would be flattering for any skin tone.”
She also offered tips for how to ensure the color can stay on through almost anything. “Pairing the lip oil with my waterproof lip liner creates serious staying power,” she said. “On its own, it’s long-wearing and leaves lips with a soft stain for all-day wear. Makeup is supposed to be fun, so there are no rules in selecting a shade.
