On Sunday, Selena Gomez attended the 51st Annual Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, wearing a stylish yet comfortable ensemble for an interview with Emilia Pérez costar Zoe Saldaña. Gomez was dressed in an oversized brown coat with large lapels and black buttons that draped all the way to her feet, wide-legged blue jeans, and a red-and-white striped shirt.
The star had her hair back in a loose braid and wore thick gold hoop earrings. She had on a natural makeup palette with a pale pink lip.
Gomez stopped to talk with fans at the festival, posing for photos and signing autographs.
On the panel, Gomez and Saldaña were joined by actors Karla Sofia Gascon, Adriana Paz, and director Jacques Audiard. The French filmmaker was awarded with the Silver Medallion Tribute at Telluride. During the Q&A, Gomez called singing for the film “therapeutic,” referring to her character Jessi Del Monte’s song “Mi Camino.”
“It was actually a totally different song,” she explained. “ It had a bit more of a rough sound to it and over the course of, you, working with Camille on the song intimately, it became almost like a ballad.”
Camille is the singer-songwriter behind the track.
Gomez continued, “It was more of a story about a woman and phases of life that she goes through and it just was beautiful.”
Gomez said to prepare she was “in the studio for hours and hours” and it was “so much fun.” However, she was making an effort not to sing how she would “normally.”
“I had to try and, you know, in my mind to think, ‘Okay, this is what were the limits I could reach within my character,” she explained. “And it was really therapeutic and I thought it was so beautifully done.”
