After months of teasing its arrival, Taylor Swift finally announced the release date of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) during her August 9 concert in Los Angeles: October 27, the same date the original came out nine years ago. It was her final show in SoFi Stadium and of her first leg of the Eras tour.
She let the screen reveal the news for her while on stage after wearing several blue outfits during her performances to tease the 1989 era.
She expanded on the news on Instagram after, revealing that the album would have five “From the Vault” tracks, songs she wrote during the 1989 era that didn’t make the original album.
Of the news, she shared, “Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you 🔜! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!
