The Harry & Meghan Documentary Series Isn’t Over Yet

Culture

For better but usually for worse, the royal media machine has found Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s love story as electric as anything to have touched the creaking boards of Buckingham Palace. But as the Sussexes have ripped themselves away from the larger Firm, they’ve also sought to wrest control of their own story, mainly through their own media enterprises, including their latest: the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan. As part of the couple’s massive financial deal with Netflix, the streamer is the exclusive home of the explosive show.

The two-part series follows the royal couple from the beginning of their relationship to now, chronicling their love story and family life, their relationships with other royals, and the toxic fallout that resulted in their separation from the Palace and their move to California.

But the bombshells that began with the couple’s infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 are far from over, and neither is the docuseries, which will drop a second chapter tomorrow. Here’s what we know so far.

When will part 2 of Harry & Meghan arrive?

The next three episodes of the docuseries will land on Dec. 15 at 3 a.m. EST.

What will the next three episodes cover?

Expect a much more intimate look at exactly what caused the couple to leave the U.K, and how the drama played out behind the scenes in the royal family. The next few episodes promise to cover the crassly nicknamed “Megxit,” and the tabloid turmoil that followed.

“This is when a family and a family business are in direct conflict,” Meghan says in the part 2 teaser, adding “Suddenly, what clicked in my head was, ‘It’s never gonna stop.’” Prince Harry jumps in with his own soundbite: “There was no other option at this point. I said, ‘We need to get outta here.’”

In trailers released since the part 1 drop, we get an even closer look at just how divisive part 2 plans to be. “They were happy to lie to protect my brother,” Harry says at one point, heavily implying that the “they” in question is his own family. “They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.”

Another teaser features Meghan discussing the alleged “coordinated campaign” against her in the media: “You would just see it play out. Like, a story about someone in the family would pop up for a minute, and they’d go, ‘Got to make that go away.’ But there’s real estate on a website homepage, there is real estate there on a newspaper front cover, and something has to be filled in there about someone royal.”

How can I watch part 2?

All episodes of Harry & Meghan will be available to watch on Netflix on Dec. 15. Episodes 1-3 are streaming now.
