In June, it was announced that Jennifer Lawrence will be starring in the new adaptation of The Wives, co-produced by Apple Studio and A24, as well as playwright Jeremy O. Harris, known for his work on Zola and Slave Play. There was reportedly quite a competition around the movie before the two huge studios won the story. The two companies have been working on projects together, including Spike Lee’s upcoming High and Low, a remake of the Akira Kurosawa film starring Denzel Washington.
