Spoilers below.
The seventh season of Love Is Blind has come to an end after one roller coaster of a season. As always, the Netflix dating series provided loads of drama, from love triangles in the pods to unexpected breakups in the real world. And though some couples didn’t ultimately make it to their wedding days, some pairs did end up at the altar together.
Here’s what you need to know about the Love Is Blind season 7 finale, including which couples got married and which went their separate ways before tying the knot.
Taylor and Garrett
From their first meeting in the pods, Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans appeared to be a match made in heaven as they bonded over their shared scientific backgrounds. While 30-year-old Taylor is pursuing a career as a clean energy policy consultant, 33-year-old Garrett works as a quantum physicist. And, yes, they both have science-related tattoos.
In an interview with Glamour, Taylor said of her connection with Garrett, “I’m not a ‘woo-woo’ person at all, but he had a tattoo of the Heisenberg principle, and I have my little hydrogen tattoo, and we connected on all these little things. I think the universe in the pods was saying, ‘There’s all these coincidences that are just more than coincidences, and this guy very much checks so many of the boxes that you’ve been looking for.’”
For the most part, Taylor and Garrett’s relationship was smooth sailing. However, the couple faced their greatest challenge in episode 10 when Garrett replied to a text from his ex but didn’t tell Taylor what he’d said. Taylor was understandably upset, believing Garrett should’ve been immediately upfront with her about the exchange.
After having some tough conversations at the group’s costume party, Taylor and Garrett traveled to San Diego the next day to meet Taylor’s family. They appeared to have gotten over their emotional discussion, and in episode 11, Taylor’s mom appeared on camera to meet with Garrett and help her daughter pick out a wedding gown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Taylor and Garrett were one of two couples to successfully make it down the aisle in episode 12. In his vows, Garrett told Taylor, “The beautiful thing about us is that we didn’t come into this expecting to find our person… to find the connection that we had in the pods, and to find the feeling that I hadn’t felt before and that I never thought I’d ever find, that magnetic connection that we talked about.”
At the altar, Taylor told Garrett, “I love your sense of humor and wit. You truly are an incredibly glass blower. But more importantly, you are going to be the person that helps me make the really heavy things in life that will be thrown our way feel lighter.”
After their wedding, Taylor said, “I’m so excited for what’s to come,” and Garrett agreed. As for whether or not they’ve stayed together since their wedding was filmed, viewers will find out during the season 7 reunion on October 30.
Ashley and Tyler
Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis’s romance started well, but hit a major speed bump in episode 9 when Ashley discovered her fiancé had fathered three children.
“I feel like we had such great communication and I don’t understand how two weeks before our wedding, you drop this kind of bomb,” she told him, while discussing his “sperm donor babies.” However, it seemed as though there might be hope when Ashley told Tyler, “I’m not upset by you trying to help a couple have kids. I think that’s admirable in certain ways.”
After overcoming the shocking news, Ashley and Tyler made it down the aisle. With tears in his eyes, Tyler told Ashley, “You’ve shown me what love truly is. I promise to cherish every moment, support your dreams, and embrace the beautiful unknown that lies ahead. With you, every day is a new chapter, and I can’t wait to fill the pages of our love story together.”
In her vows, Ashley addressed Tyler as “the man who makes me feel soft, adored, and protected, heart and body.“ “I’ve never felt a love this pure, yet fierce,” she told him. Ashley described their love story as a fairytale, and told Tyler that he’s her soulmate, then they both said, “I do.”
After the wedding, Ashley revealed, “I wouldn’t have found a love like this without this experiment.” The couple also revealed that they’re looking forward to starting a family together. But as for their relationship status now, all will be revealed at the reunion.
Marissa and Ramses
Ramses Prashad and Marissa George had overcome multiple obstacles in their relationship. While Marissa is a Navy veteran, Ramses is staunchly anti-military, telling his fiancée’s friends he’d divorce her if she reenlisted. A tense conversation in episode 10 saw Ramses questioning whether Marissa was the one for him as she didn’t want to be touched when she felt ill. On top of that, the couple had a disagreement regarding birth control, with Ramses expressing his dislike of condoms. Despite these issues, it looked as though they would actually make it to their wedding day.
At the end of episode 11 and the beginning of episode 12, Marissa and Ramses were shown having a difficult conversation. With a blanket over his head, Ramses revealed that, having spoken to several family members, he was now unsure he wanted to get married. “I just learned that my ex was hurting much more than I realized after the divorce,” Ramses explained. “And I’m just scared that something may happen where I’d end up hurting you.”
Ramses continued, “This connection is amazing but there are certain things that you can’t get around, especially when it comes to living together and spending the day to day together that’s crazy important.”
When Marissa pushed Ramses for a clearer explanation of his doubts, he told her, “It’s about your energy and my energy living and coexisting in the same space… Is our energy going to be too much for me or make me feel overwhelmed?” He continued, “It was great and fine in Cabo, but here everyday when you bring in work and day to day stresses, there’s so much going on, I didn’t feel like I had a moment to myself.”
Visibly distressed by his reasoning, Marissa said other partners had referenced her “energy” during breakups, which was honestly heartbreaking. Audibly crying, Marissa said, “This is not right. This is the worst heartbreak I’ve ever experienced.” She phoned her mom to reveal Ramses’s decision. “I feel like I’m dying,” she said.
Marissa explained, “Two days ago he told me he’s so excited to get married. We picked out our first dance song and he got emotional because he envisioned us getting married.” She continued, “So it’s really hard for me to come to the conclusion that we’re done.”
Nick and Hannah
Nick Dorka and Hannah Jiles’s romance was rocky from the start. In the pods, Hannah was caught between Nick and Leo, but she ultimately accepted a proposal from Nick. However, the cracks started appearing in their relationship on vacation in Mexico, with Hannah getting upset when Nick rode on a plastic duck while joking with a female stranger.
At the start of episode 11, Nick and Hannah argued about the group’s costume party, at which Nick had spoken to Katie, another woman he’d dated in the pods. Later in the episode, the pair sat down for a serious conversation, revealing that some of the issues in their relationship were too big to surmount.
Hannah repeatedly criticized Nick, suggesting that, at 28 years old, he should have more responsibilities and not live in his parents’ basement. When Nick responded by saying he’s been building his real estate business and is committed to being a good partner, Hannah seemed to dismiss his efforts.
“I’ve never seen this side of you where you constantly bash me and say, ‘I’m turning you from a boy to a man,’” he told her. “This is just you being, kind of like, hard on me. I’m not the type of man to sit here and come up with a notebook full of notes and bash you.”
Hannah tried to justify her criticisms, telling Nick, “I love you and I want this so freaking bad,” but she conceded that she didn’t really understand him. Nick replied, “I thought I was good enough for you and I was wrong the whole time.” He also revealed that the breakup would be one of the worst things he’d ever experienced. “You’ll always be in my heart,” he told her.
In an interview with People, Hannah discussed her decision to end her engagement to Nick. “I think for me, it just came down to: I saw my friends [with him], my family was there, and I just had a moment where I was kind of like, what am I doing?” she explained. “If I’m still seeing all these issues and I’m just being mean to this man, I feel like I’m just dogging on this man, this is probably not someone that I want to be married to. It just all came to [this] realization, we shouldn’t be together.”
Meanwhile, in an impromptu interview with TMZ, Nick joked that he’d love to be the next Bachelor, suggesting he’s single after the Love Is Blind experience.
Tim and Alex
Alex Byrd and Tim Godbee overcame an argument while on vacation in Mexico, and they even met each other’s parents. However, in episode 10, Tim abruptly ended their relationship, expressing dissatisfaction with some of Alex’s behavior.
“I understand you were sleepy, but my parents drove up here 10 hours to meet you,” he told her. “As soon as the cameras cut, you decided to go to sleep at the first opportunity.” Explaining why he was so offended by her actions, Tim said, “These are the most important people in my life and all I have left in this world. And the choice you made in that moment was to go to sleep. To me that is telling, because that’s just not a choice that I would ever make.”
Alex explained that she was exhausted after speaking to Tim’s parents on camera for hours, and that she had no idea taking a nap would be such a faux pas. Alex’s explanation seemingly didn’t matter though, as Tim had already made up his mind. “After reflecting on what I really want out of life and a wife, I have to be honest with myself that the answer between you and I, and for me, is no,” he told her.
Alex revealed how angry she was that Tim had only just met her dad, who has multiple sclerosis, and whom she didn’t want to involve in Love Is Blind unless she was definitely getting married. “I did not take you meeting my father and getting him that emotional so lightly,” she told him. “How dare you do that and then just throw it away after two days.” Alex continued, “And now you’re ready to just throw it away because I fell asleep and because I didn’t text you?”
After Tim confirmed their relationship was over, Alex hinted at “temper tantrums” and “attitude” he’d displayed when the cameras were off. Tim responded, saying, “I don’t ever wanna see you again.”
In an interview with Vulture, Alex revealed,“Tim was very, very strategic on what he talked about in front of the camera.” She continued, “But I will say, if something bothered him, he would not address it until after we got off camera. And sometimes it would turn into an argument, because when you come from two different worlds, you might take something a different way, and now we’re just trying to understand each other.”
Monica and Stephen
Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson appeared to be in sync with one another, but their romance abruptly came to an end in episode 8. Viewers witnessed Monica confront Stephen over “sexual” messages she’d discovered on his phone from another woman.
“I did make a completely stupid mistake while being drunk at a sleep test with somebody who texted me,” Stephen said during the episode. “I know that it was a stupid decision.”
Stephen also claimed that he only replied to the messages after learning Monica wanted to wait until marriage to have sex, after learning he was having doubts about tying the knot. “Don’t you fucking blame me at all for you being gross,” she told him.
Before Stephen left their apartment, Monica made him Venmo the money he owed her. She was very emotional about the breakup, telling Stephen, “I’m almost embarrassed about how much of my heart I’ve given you. You were gonna shake my dad’s hand this weekend? While you were planning on cheating? I don’t understand.”
While speaking with Glamour, Taylor revealed that Garrett had been inadvertently instrumental in exposing Stephen’s deceit. “So, that night I had baked all these pumpkin muffins for all the couples, and we were delivering them,” Taylor explained. “Garrett had texted Stephen like, ‘Hey, coming up with muffins.’ And then because of that, Monica checked his phone and saw the text messages. It kind of all went from there.”
Brittany and Leo
Unfortunately, Leo Braudy and Brittany Wisniewski became one of season 7’s most disastrous couplings. While Brittany was all in from the start, Leo expressed he had strong feelings for Hannah. As viewers already know, Hannah chose Nick D. after feeling attacked by Leo during an aggressive proclamation of his love in the pods. Leo subsequently proposed to Brittany, but not before she read him a Burn Book-style letter regarding his inability to choose her.
Leo and Brittany’s first in-person meeting was incredibly awkward. While Leo repeatedly declared his love, Brittany couldn’t say the words back. Her visibly awkward reaction on camera suggested she wasn’t attracted to Leo in the way she hoped she’d be.
“I just didn’t feel the things that you would think that you would feel when you’re getting proposed to, despite having such a strong connection,” she told People.
As they weren’t invited to Mexico with the rest of the couples, Leo and Brittany took their own trip to Miami. Despite having fun together, they decided to go their separate ways and remain friends.
“We had a lot of conversations throughout the trip, and mutually came to the conclusion that we just didn’t see it turning into marriage,” Leo told People of their breakup.
