With a romantic trip to Lake Como, Italy, behind them, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce look as smitten as ever as they approach their one-year anniversary of dating this July. But wedding bells are not quite ringing yet despite a report last week suggesting they could be.
Multiple sources shut down speculation that Kelce and Swift are getting engaged soon. They told Us Weekly that Kelce is taking his time with Swift.
One source explained why, saying, “Travis has no plans on proposing to Taylor anytime soon. It’s not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration.”
They added that Kelce “cares very deeply [about Swift, but] he’s just not there yet.”
The update comes after a source told Entertainment Tonight last week that those close to Swift and Kelce could see him popping the question imminently. “Taylor and Travis are doing amazing, and their loved ones see an engagement coming sooner than later,” that insider said. “They make a great match, and there’s no question about that.”
Swift and Kelce never responded to that report nor have they addressed any other suggestions about their relationship’s trajectory.
This isn’t the first time sources have shut down other claims that Kelce and Swift could be getting engaged soon. Back in January, Page Six ran a report claiming the couple was planning a summer engagement. A source close to Kelce and Swift told The Messenger shortly after that “there are still no plans for an engagement. It’s still new, and they’re happy and still getting to know each other.”
