Despite reports that Travis Kelce would watch Taylor Swift perform in Buenos Aires, Argentina during the Kansas City Chiefs’ bye week, he did not make the over 11-hour trek yesterday. Kelce was not present at Swift’s first of three shows last night. Instead, he went to his teammate Patrick Mahomes’ 15 and The Mahomies Foundation Gala in Kansas City, Missouri, per Entertainment Tonight. Footage of him at the charity event was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
There is still time for Kelce to make it to Swift’s shows tonight or Saturday—although he likely wouldn’t be able to stay long given the travel time and his NFL work commitments. He “has to be back on Sunday for practice on Monday,” a source told Page Six.
A source spoke to Us Weekly yesterday about how Swift and Kelce have discussed handling long-distance dating. Swift is continuing the South American leg of her Eras tour through November 26, then is off until February 7 for her first show in Tokyo. Kelce, of course, is in the middle of his NFL season with the Chiefs.
“Travis and Taylor are a very real couple; they actually spend a lot of one-on-one time together and have developed a very real connection,” the source told Us. “They have very detailed plans coming up on how to stay together while she’s on tour and he has games.” The source did not share the specifics of those plans, but in mid-October, another source gave People some insight on how Swift and Kelce manage time when they’re physically apart.
“She’s the biggest star in the world, and it’s no secret dating an athlete is very tough, but they’ve been texting and talking on the phone between the pockets of time they get to spend with each other,” the source detailed.
“There’s not some looming date like, ‘Oh, she’s going back on tour’ and ‘his football schedule is getting crazy,’” the source added. “They’ll figure it out. He’s said it himself, he knows what he signed up for with this attention, but they’ve spent time under the radar too. They’re giving things a real try.”
