Taylor Swift resumed her Eras Tour this evening in Hamburg, Germany, after her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, attended two of her three shows in Gelsenkirchen. Kelce wasn’t in the crowd—in fact, he’s thousands of miles away from Swift this week.
The Kansas City Chiefs player is in Missouri at the team’s training camp. Given that practice begins at 9:15 A.M. local time today and tomorrow, it is impossible for Kelce to be at Swift’s Europe shows.
Kelce’s training camp runs through August 15 before his team begins preseason games. Swift, however, will be able to join him in Kansas City before his regular season starts. The singer will wrap her European Eras Tour leg on August 20, when she plays her last show in London. She’ll be on a break until mid-October after that.
This isn’t Swift and Kelce’s first time apart this year, and they are ready to manage another long-distance stretch. A source told People yesterday, “It’s definitely tough to be apart, but they do everything they can to make it work and show up for each other. They’re so in love and very, very happy together. All their friends and family can see it.”
They also took advantage of their time together last week, the source revealed. “Travis’ last few concerts were bittersweet,” the insider said. “They knew their time together like this was coming to an end, and he made sure to spend every minute he could with Taylor.”
On July 2, a source told People that Kelce tries to make their time apart special, too. “Football is definitely still his priority but so is his relationship,” the source explained. “He makes romantic gestures to show he’s thinking of her when they’re apart. She’s going to try to attend as many games as possible.”
